Furr Bowl Fundraiser Raises over $8,000!

This year’s Furr Bowl Fundraiser event was a huge success for Great River Rescue.  The event was held on Sunday, April 10 at Bemidji Bowl and included about 80 bowlers.  Including all registrations, sponsorships, donations, raffle tickets, and shirt sales, the event raised $8,144!  This is the most the shelter has raised at a single fundraising event in many years.

Many thanks go out to all the participants, sponsors, donors, and volunteers for this great event.  A special thanks also goes to GiveGab.com, the online platform which we used for registrations and fundraising.  Several supporters used GiveGab to help raise funds for the Furr Bowl by creating a fundraising page and asking family and friends to donate.  We had 4 supporters who raised over $500!  Many others also raised smaller amounts.

Special thanks also to our Event sponsors Bark Avenue and Paul Bunyan Communications.  We are also grateful to our many lane sponsors including:

  • Pet Zone
  • First Nations and HealthStar Home Health
  • Marco
  • Beltrami Electric
  • Amity Graphics
  • Higgins Heating
  • Bemidji Driving School
  • Spinal Health Professionals
  • ColinMustful.com
  • Bonded Lock & Key
  • Pickett Agency Inc.
  • Photography by Trish
  • First National Bank Bemidji
  • RP Broadcasting, Inc.

We would also like to extend thanks to the wonderful artists at Gallery North in Bemidji.  They designed the special pins which were given away as trophies.  Thank you to these artists for their efforts:

  • Mary Morton
  • Patty Lovegreen
  • Marie Hamre
  • Monie Martin
  • Maureen O’brien
  • Joelle Jodie Jeanie
  • Colleen Hilts
  • Jeanie Genner
  • B.E. Jolly

It was a great day for the animals and for our community.  We can’t thank our community enough for the continued support!
