Walk-ins Are Welcome…Appointments are Appreciated!

Prospective adopters may walk-in and see the shelter pets, but those with appointments will take priority. Additionally, those who walk-in without an appointment will not be able to adopt on the same day. Also, we can only do dog-to-dog introductions by appointment. Thank you for understanding!

The Furr Bowl is an annual fundraising event at Bemidji Bowl to support the work of Great River Rescue. Each year, individuals and groups register to bowl for two hours, while also conducting their own fundraising efforts. The top fundraising individuals and teams earn awesome prizes and are recognized for their efforts.

The Furr Bowl is an important event in the life of our shelter. Help us reach our goal of raising $15,000 in 2024. This year’s event is being held on April 28 from 1 to 3 pm at Bemidji Bowl. There are different levels of registration: team registration is $400 for a team of 6, lane sponsorship (without a team) is $200, and registration to play on a sponsored lane is $40 per person. The event includes two hours of bowling, pizza, pop, and prizes. Once registered, participants are given their own fundraising page through our partner Kindful. Pages can be edited to tell each participant’s story as to why they believe in the cause of Great River Rescue. Then, you can share your page with family and friends seeking donations. Each donation gets us closer to our $15,000 goal and increases your chances of winning great prizes. Our top fundraisers will win specially designed bowling pin trophies!
