Great River Rescue Receives Pedigree Foundation Grant

Hundreds of dogs end up homeless in Bemidji and surrounding communities every year. That is why Great River Rescue is excited to announce that it has received a grant from the Pedigree Foundation to support its dog adoption program.

With this $1,050 grant, Great River Rescue will be able to provide quality care for dogs while they wait for their new forever homes. Every dog at Great River Rescue gets a medical and behavioral assessment, needed vaccinations, flea/tick treatment, dewormer, needed grooming, and personal care until it finds the perfect home. These funds will help the organization continue that work.

“We are so pleased to have the continued support and partnership of the Pedigree Foundation,” said Executive Director Brandon Mustful. “We simply couldn’t continue this work without the support of our partners.”

Each year approximately 150 dogs receive care and are adopted into new homes. Great River Rescue also strives to educate the public about responsible pet care and efforts to reduce pet overpopulation. A community organization, Great River Rescue depends on grants and community donations to do its work.
