2018 – Another good year!

2018 was another busy and exciting year at Great River Rescue. Here are just a few highlights from the year. Further detail will be provided in our 2018 annual report.

We took in 406 animals while completing 349 adoptions, 14 reclaims, and 17 transfers to other shelters. Four animals died and one was euthanized resulting in a save rate of 98.8%! We spayed/neutered 203 animals while administering 717 core vaccines.

Additionally, we held 3 major fundraising events, and did 61 educational presentations. We maintained a positive image in the community getting a 4.78 out of 5 on our post adoption surveys. Our online newsletter subscribers grew by 249 and our Facebook following grew by 563. We also had a total of 1691 logged hours from our volunteers.

Finally, we installed much needed shade canopies for our outdoor dog runs to give our dogs a more comfortable setting during the warm summer months. And, we completed a renewal of our strategic plan which included new mission, vision, and value statements.

Thank you for your support of our work during 2018. We expect even greater things for this organization and our community in 2019!
