Successful 2015
GRR has a successful 2015!
Success due to community support.
All in all, 2015 was a successful year at Great River Rescue. First and foremost, the organization changed its name from Beltrami Humane Society. This was a much needed change that had been in the works for years. Secondly, for the third consecutive year total adoptions rose to 364 including 149 dogs and 213 cats. Another key indicator for the shelter, the average length of stay, also dropped for the third consecutive year to 28.72 days for dogs and 48.79 days for cats. Finally, the organization had a positive year financially due in large part to a generous inheritance donation. 2015 marked the first year in a long time that the organization did not have to borrow money to keep operations going.
Great River Rescue Board of Directors and Staff would like to thank the community for making success possible. As a private, nonprofit organization, GRR relies heavily on donations from community members to pay the bills. Of course, GRR also relies on individuals and families to choose adoption over other methods of finding companion pets.
Great River Rescue will continue its mission to save and find homes for companion pets in 2016 and we hope you will continue to support us. Thank you!
